TEAM BUILDING 1 - MARBLE CHALLENGE

Our very first team building activity involved a marble, some cardboard boxes, tape, scissors, a timer and a whole lot of determination.
The goal: To create a ramp which will allow the marble to travel from top to bottom taking the longest possible time.
More than materials, this activity needed a lot of communicating, planning, revising, compromising, testing, collaborating, listening, and respecting, It was a fun activity but lots of learning from each other happened as well.

PERFORMANCE TASK PRESENTATIONS

The performance task for our science unit was both challenging and fun. It is focused on this guiding question. How can I use scientific findings to explain the world around me? The goal is to conduct an experiment and explain the scientific thinking behind it. The experiment should include how findings explain the world around you.
